I really liked what the Judge had to say.
Did anyone else watch this live?

I saw it live. The Judge ripped him a new one. I hope all of these other concierge doctors get the message. You will be held accountable for your actions, for selling your ethics for money & fame.

Coworkers and I were watching it live. We all walked away having the hots for Judge Pastor.
His contempt for Murray was pretty sexy.

That is a good observation about RW?s injuries. Does she like the attention or is she just really clumsy? I haven?t had the number of injuries she has had this year in my entire life. Strange.

Heard 95% of it and was VERY IMPRESSED at the judge. I work at a university and one of our leading scholars went on the local news and said he thought the judge was grand standing. Not in my opinion?.I thought he was making sure there was no doubt that we all knew the basis for his judgement which was stellar! (And I?ll add, it did show that there can be justice in high profile criminal cases in LA. Wahoo!!!)

Bravo-although the jail sentence was deserved, I am mostly thankful that Murray will never touch another patient. He will also serve as an example to other docs who are propping up the drug abuse of their patients.
Apparently Murray was a reputable cardiologist before he joined MJ?s ?team?, but then money and fame got to him.
Diprivan (the drug that killed MJ) has an FDA black box warning saying that the drug should never be administered outside a hospital, and that if one or more docs are occupied with a procedure, an anesthesiologist should be present to monitor vital signs in case the patient begins to crash. Diprivan has up to a 25% INCIDENCE OF CARDIAC ARREST!!!
Murray knew better. To make matters worse, he was not licensed in CA, and therefore did not have admitting privileges at any local hospital.
He sold his soul to the Devil. I will leave it up to others to interpret who the Devil was.
Btw, if anyone has the link to the judge?s sentencing verdict and explanation of the basis for it, please post.

What I find interesting about these sorts of trials is the judge?s sentencing. The judge sits emotionless throughout the trial and before the verdict is read, we observers wonder what it will be.
Then the judge gets to speak and in this case it is clear that he considers Murray a disgrace to the medical profession and a remorseless narcissist. The judge?s long experience brought him to an early conclusion that this case was open and shut.

About time something is done to these ?celebrity? doctors. Sure, their patients use their celebrity status to get them to prescribe them, but the doctors are supposed to say no, collectively, and be professionals. And not being afraid to lose business over a celebrity?s hissy fit.
