  1. I hate to say it, but I never got Christopher Hitchens appeal. I hear him referred to as funny, but he seemed just like and angry curmudgeon to me.

Goop is partying with Prince Harry. That is so wrong.

  2. Amy Childs is the UK?s hot air balloon who needs to go away. She brought vajazilling (mis spell?) into the world. I hate her.

  4. RIP Christopher Hitchens. I am a huge fan of his writings.

The intellectual giants are dying off and being replaced by Kardasians. Sign of the times. Jesus, please come back soon?

  5. Sad about Mr. Hitchens. I liked his books and attitude. 62 is pretty young to go.

  6. I think RDJ has admitted in interviews several times that he?s bi sexual.

And, funny you mention them-b/c i saw a pic of the 3 of them at an event recently, and had that same sense-she was holding court with ?her boy?s lol
if not that, then RDJ and Jude def.got together, IMO. It?s just gossip; i have no idea. and my vibe for this kind of stuff is def. off. which is good.
b/c i need my vibe about my own life to be the thing that?s ?on?. lol

  7. Today is one of my darkest days.

I didn?t always agree with Hitch, but damn, I enjoyed the hell out of him. One brilliant mind.

It?s so sad that there?s such a shortage of those.

  8. Was sad to hear about Hitch. May not always have agreed with him but I loved listening and reading his arguments. He was a writer that always forced his readers to think, and think hard about their own viewpoints alongside his.

  9. I just bought Arguably last week and finished God is not Great early this morning, before hearing of his death. He was a truly amazing human being. I will miss his Hitchslaps!

  11. He was provocative and smart and a great writer. His battle with cancer was a brutal one and I was shocked to see him lose it so quickly. RIP.

  12. I did not agree with a lot of hypocritical standpoints on many things from theology, to torture in war, and all kinds of things, but that did not take away from his talent, and every month I received my issues of VF, his articles were one of the first I would search for.

RUP, Hitch. You were a hell of writer, and I admired you standing up for what you believe in.

  16. I?m reading Hitch22 at the moment and he had such a full, amazing life.

We lost a great mind yesterday. One that made thousands of people think, talk, research and write.

As Stephen Fry said, ?Perhaps the best debater since Aristotle, someone truly talented.?

    Goodbye Hitch.

  17. By the way, there?s a picture of Hitchens shaking hands with Paris Hilton. That always cracked me up, trying to imagine how that conversation went was the second best thing, only losing to trying to imagine what Hitch was thinking while talking to her.

  19. RIP while I didn?t agree with everything he wrote he was one leftist that didn?t shrink from the totalitarian terrorism of bin laden ? the left needs more people like Chris and less blowhards like Bill Maher. America has juvenile talking heads ? on the left and right ? but few public intellectuals like Chris; he will be missed.

  21. One of the best ?Hitch? stories I read was when he heard that another friend, a professor, had a habit of seducing female students in his writing seminars. He shook his head pityingly and commented ?It?s not worth it. Afterward, you have to read their short stories.?

R.I.P. Hitch, I?ll miss your rapier wit.

  23. Can I just say that I am just astonished at the level of civility and decency in these comments about Christopher Hitchens? Half the other sites I?ve visited ? respected, mainstream, supposedly intelligent news outlets ? have had comments sections filled with bile and viciousness and hate. And I come here to a gossip site and everyone?s all, ?I didn?t agree with him but I respected him, rest in peace?.

I?ve got something in my eye. I could hug every one of you.

    • That?s why I stick around here ? besides the sweet posts ? the people that come and post here are definitely above par on the civility and thoughtfulness fronts.

      • The few posters who spew hate-filled rants and personal attacks against the more intelligent and well-meaning people on this site don?t generally stick around ? they either get kicked off or humiliated into not returning :)

  24. I didn?t care for Christopher Hitchens, I didn?t like his views, and I agreed with little to nothing that he espoused, but the world lost someone who had the ability to think and form coherent sentences. Everytime someone with his/her own mind is lost, a little part of the world dies with them. The world needs opposing viewpoints to make it a more interesting place.

  25. I find it odd that this site, a gossip site about Hollywood celebrities, is the only place I was able to find a blurb on Hitchens (without googling). Went to CNN?s main page, not a peep. Maybe there?s something to this ?mainstream media? thing.

    • yeah ? the office has msnbc on during the day, and i was struck by the lack of attention his death got ? esp from the wdc political hacks. when it was mentioned, it was several stories in?

found him an unpleasant man, but he did produce work that made one think. and i agree with so many above, this country is in dire need of those types of people.

  27. Just received Hitch 22 from the library the other day. Not far in, but am deeply saddened that I will not see or hear him again. Like most of you, I didn?t always agree with him, but I truly loved to see him hold forth. RIP Hitch.

  30. Loved his wit and passion. Loved his intelligence and humor. Didn?t always agree but his mastery of language and his firm belief in a meritocracy made him a favorite to read.
